Looking for a way to get your children or students excited about geography? Our 3rd-5th graders have been hosting their own "Amazing Race" as part of our Around the World club. Although this lesson was designed to be competitive, it can be adapted to a non-competitive, individual setting. To use this with a tutoring student or individual child, work together to research each of the different continents. Utilize compare and contrast skills to identify what is similar about the different continents, and what is different. Think about climate, clothing, traditions, cuisine, and other facets of culture while doing this. Now, on your mark, get set....
