Volunteer OpportunitiesEarly Literacy Program Volunteer
Program Contact: Fio Lazarte; Fio@tetonliteracy.org
Length of Commitment: 1 hour per week for a preferred duration of 6 months or longer; and substitutes to be on-call. Age Requirement: Must be at least 15 years of age. Duties: Assist parents and staff with classes. Lessons and activities are prepared by staff; volunteers will help children and parents with reading and discussion of stories, writing and drawing. Length of Commitment: 1 hour per week for 6-9 months. Age Requirement: Must be at least 15 years of age. Duties: Work one-to-one with a students, kindergarten - 5th grade. Tutors fill out weekly observations of students progress and online session logs. They use lesson plans written by program staff designed to fit the individual needs of each student. In-school tutors provide classroom support in kindergarten - 5th grade. Materials and supplies are provided by the teacher. Tutors work one-on-one or in small groups. Youth Program Tutor

Length of Commitment: 1-2 hours per week for a preferred duration of 6 months; and substitutes to be on-call. Age Requirement: Must be 21 years of age or in high school with a teacher recommendation and approval of the Youth Program Director. Duties: Provide reading and writing support to students in 6th - 12th grade. Tutors work one-on-one or in small groups. Office Support Volunteer

Length of commitment: Minimum of 3 months Age requirement: Must be at least 16 years of age Duties: We need help with a variety of tasks: answering phones and greeting students, tutors, parents and other visitors; entering data into database system; assisting with mailings and creating classroom materials for teachers and tutors to use with learners.
