Private donations support virtually every aspect of the literacy services that the Teton Literacy Program provides. Last year, 90% of funding came from private donors and 83% of all monies supported direct services to clients. Your donation to the Teton Literacy Program helps to ensure the future of valuable programs such as Adult Programs; the I Can! Book Project; Children's Programs; Adult ESL Classes; Tutor Training and Continuing Education; the Resource Lending Library; and Parent and Teacher Workshops.

Please support us by making a donation today!

As long as being able to read medicine bottles, fill out job applications and follow road signs is a necessity in Teton County, we will continue to have clients anxious for our services.

For every two children studying with us in grades one through five, there is one student on the waitlist, and one student we cannot accept. The Teton Literacy Program estimates that at least 25 percent of local elementary students could benefit from additional reading help. The need for our services has also greatly increased along with the dramatic increase in community members for whom English is a second language.

For every adult who receives services, the Teton Literacy Program estimates that at least four additional community members would benefit from our services. Since the Teton Literacy Program incorporated as a non-profit in 1996, the Latino population of Teton County, Wyoming, has increased 350 percent, while the program itself has grown by 300% in the past three years alone.

To find out how to donate or sponsor a program, please contact Glenda McNichols, Executive Director, (307) 733-9242. If you would like to view more financial information, please review our fiscal year 2004 Annual Report (pdf).

During the 2004-2005 fiscal year, the Teton Literacy Program utilized over 127 volunteers to provide 11,000 hours of service to more than 650/700 clients. Volunteers are truly the lifeblood of the Teton Literacy Program. If you are interested in volunteering, please submit a Volunteer Information Form (pdf), or call (307) 733-9242 for more information. Also, please visit our Calendar of Events for a list of volunteer training dates.
