Volunteer at Teton Literacy Center!
|
Make a difference in the life of a student! Become a volunteer tutor today.
What do volunteer tutors do? They motivate, encourage and support students in grades K-12 with reading and writing development. Tutors and students meet once a week for one hour to build literacy skills. They are matched based on individual needs, abilities, and interests. No experience necessary! Why tutor? Teton Literacy Center students see incredible gains in reading levels because of the one-on-one time and focused attention on their personal reading and writing skills. Every child matched with a tutor increases their reading ability. Tutoring for one hour a week makes a significant impact on a student's life. 80% of the students in our Children’s Program read at grade level after one year of working with a tutor. How do I sign up? Come by Teton Literacy Center during a Volunteer Drop-in Session. Learn about volunteer opportunities, talk with a program director, and sign up for a training. Drop-in Sessions are every Wednesday and Thursday from 10am-Noon and 5-7pm from February 22nd through March 15th at Teton Literacy Center. Our office is located in Flat Creek Business Center, 1715 High School Road, Suite #260. You can reach us via email at volunteer@tetonliteracy.org or call Laura at 733.9242. How do I volunteer?
