Teacher's Corner

What programs are available to my students at TLC?

Teton Literacy has three main programs. Tutoring, Enrichment and Family Literacy. All of our programs are available for free to the entire community. Students are selected for each program based on need until the program is at capacity. Teachers help ensure that we reach the students that needs our services the most.

What happens after I make a referral?

Tutoring Program
Submit a referral through our website
A TLC staff member will email you to let you know that we received your referral within 1 week
A TLC staff member will contact the family and schedule an initial assessment that last approximately 30 minutes
Students will be match with a tutor within 2-4 weeks of assessment depending on tutor availability
Once a student begins tutoring, a TLC staff member will monitor their progress and send updates to the classroom teacher after their first meeting and then 3-4 times a year.
*TLC will try contacting a family 3 times. If the family does not respond or misses more than one scheduled assessment, TLC will contact the teacher to let them know we were unsuccessful in connecting with the family. Families are then encouraged to reach out to us.

Enrichment Program
Submit a referral through our website
A TLC staff member will email you to let you know that we received your referral within 1 week
A TLC staff member will contact the family and schedule an initial assessment that last approximately 30 minutes
Spaces in clubs are filled through a lottery. Additional points are added to a families application when a teacher refers them.
Enrollment happens three times a year- Fall, Winter and Spring. Students must be re-registered each session
Spaces are filled until all programs are at capacity. Occasionally spaces come available in the middle of a session.
A TLC staff member will contact you if your student is enrolled in an enrichment program and will send updates on each student up to 3 times a year.

Family Literacy Programs
Encourage the family to stop by our office between the hours of 9-7pm, Monday through Thursday for more information.
Events and Parent classes are available to view on our website.

All TLC programs are free of charge.

Still have questions? Call our office and speak with a TLC staff member about your student and how we can support them.
