Learn more about IXL

What is IXL?
IXL is a personalized learning platform featuring comprehensive curriculum which helps students reach their full potential.

How does it work?
TLC teachers choose skills and lesson for each child individually. When a child logs onto the website using their unique username and password, they will see the skills their TLC teacher chose. Each child will work through problem sets specific to them gaining invaluable practice in critical skills to help them succeed. If students complete the tasks assigned to them quickly, they have access to the entire catalog of learning including math, science and social studies.

TLC teachers can monitor progress and adjust skills for each student. This platform allows us to provide the same personalized learning we do during the school year, virtually!

How often should my child work in IXL?
We suggest your child spend about 20 minutes 5 days a week working through skills. It is incredibly important for students to engage in learning at home while away from school. With a pair of headphones and access to an internet browser (computer, tablet or phone) all children can complete these activities at their pace without significant support from parents.

How to get involved

To become involved in our IXL learning platform
  1. Email our Americorps Member Natalie Taylor at [email protected] to request enrollment
  2. Help your child log in for the first time.
  3. Encourage your child to use the platform for 20 minutes 3-5 days a week to practice skills in literacy and math!
  4. Email your Carisa with questions! We are here to help.
